juma cerámicas was born from a personal journey—one that started during a challenging chapter in my life, when i felt the need to reconnect with what truly brings me joy. as a child, i was always happiest when creating with my hands—making things, getting messy, and being completely in the moment. that’s when i started taking ceramics lessons in amsterdam, and from the very first moment, i felt an immediate connection. when i moved to barcelona, things really started to come together. my love for ceramics, creativity, and interior design found room to grow. i spent endless hours in the studio, and my home filled up with pieces. that’s when i decided to start sharing them. there’s something deeply intuitive about the act of creating—about letting your hands lead and the clay guide you, showing you where to go. i almost never start with a fixed sketch. i prefer to draw inspiration from moving through the city, being in nature, and travelling. simply arriving in the studio—that’s where the shape often reveals itself in the moment. working with your hands, with raw materials, brings a sense of presence. it feels like a form of meditation. in a world that’s fast, fleeting, and mostly digital, creating something slowly and mindfully feels like a quiet act of resistance—and at the same time, an act of beauty. i believe craftsmanship still matters. it reminds us that not everything needs to be immediate or for right now. it teaches us to slow down, to pay attention. something handmade carries a quiet uniqueness—something that simply can’t be replicated. it’s made with love, care, and intention.

inspired by the mediterranean its nature, sea, mountains, people, earthy textures, playful architecture, and the organic shapes that echo throughout my work.
